Club achieves Swim21 Accreditation
Fri 24th April 2015
After must hard work and dedication by the swim club’s treasurer Robin Goodfellow, the swim club has achieved Swim21 accreditation. The Swim21 scheme is the ASA’s quality mark for swim clubs and ensures that the club is doing its best for all of its members. Now that the club has met the criteria set down by the ASA, we are able to gain access to a range of support from the ASA as well as other benefits that include the use of the Sport England’s “Clubmark”. Please read more on the club’s Swim21 pages under the ‘About Us’ menu. Many thanks from all the committee to Robin for his efforts.

The Cambridgeshire County Swimming Championships are held annually and are open to all clubs across the county. Ely sent a team of 20 swimmers aged between 9 and 18 who took part in events over the county during the month of March and achieved a great set of results. Highlights of the championships were that 6 of our swimmers achieved medals, meaning they finished in the top 3 for an event for their age group, with our top performers being 9 year old Ciara Taylor who entered 8 events, achieving an amazing 4 golds, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, as well as being the top girl in the whole county for the 9yr age group. Secondly another top performer was Zak Bailey who entered 14 events, achieving 3 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronze medals, finishing 4th in the whole country for the 10yr age group.
