KEMPEN 2012

The club is hoping to organise a trip to our twin city Kempen in Germany on the weekend of 29 June to 1st July 2012. This is a great opportunity for children and adults alike to stay with a German family, compete against other teams, make new friends and swim in one of Kempen’s three fabulous pools - one of which has water chutes and a slide.

Sorry for such short notice but in order to provide an accurate cost for the coach trip we need to know numbers by 10 February at the latest. Therefore could you please forward a deposit of £50 per person by the date in bold to a club official at the pool or me at the address above. (cheques payable to City of Ely ASC) The deposit is non refundable except in case of the trip being cancelled through lack of sufficient interest.

We estimate that if we can fill a coach with 50 people the final cost will be £60 per person and if we have 30 people it will be £100 per person. This price includes coach trip, ferry crossing and visit to the lovely city of Bruges on route home. Our German hosts will feed you well. All you need is spending money.

All the children who have been in previous years have had a wonderful time and so have the adults – my wife had a great time!

Unfortunately the Swimming Club is not in a position to subsidise this trip. If we don’t have sufficient numbers to cover the cost we will have to cancel.

I do hope we can fill a coach and make Kempen 2012 a fabulous trip for all.
