RADIO SHOW CHALLENGES ELY'S SWIMMERS
- youngest and oldest to take part in challenge -

After hearing about Ely Masters Swimmer Audrey Head's five gold medals and five regional records, Q103's Tom (from the Tom & Emma Showgram) claimed that he could do better. Now the breakfast radio DJ is being made to meet the challenge by racing against Audrey next week.

The Q103 challenge will take place just before the Club's annual Winter Championships session on Monday 12 th November. Audrey (as the Club's most senior swimmer at the age of 75) will swim with Harry Love (aged 9, who represents the Club's most junior swimmers), against Tom (aged 28) in a breaststroke race at Ely's Paradise Pool.

Elaine Hill, the coach at City of Ely Swimming Club who laid down the challenge to Q103's Tom, said:  "I don't think Tom fully realises what he has let himself in for. At six foot tall and aged 28, Tom probably thinks that he will win. But there really is no substitute for skill and stamina in a swimming event, particularly one as technical as breaststroke. Most people have no idea what is involved and just how hard all our swimmers work to achieve their best in the water.   I am sure the Challenge will be great fun for everyone- except Tom!"
